Following feedback, we are trialling a new parent/student portal system, TASC Insight, for year 7 students and parents from May 2015. If this trial is successful, we will roll the system out to all students later during the year. Year 7 2014-15 reports will be issued via Insight. Paper copies of reports are not issued as standard. All students will be able to access TASC Insight using their normal school username and password (e.g. 14smithb).
Insight provides the same information as SIMS Learning Gateway, it is user-friendly, has a mobile applications (for iOS & Android) and is compatible with all operating systems, including Windows and Apple.
Insight is an Internet-based platform which gives students and parents/guardians secure access to the student’s personal data from our School Information Management System (SIMS). This system allows you to view your child’s timetable, attendance, behaviour/achievement points, school reports and homework live 24 hours a day on a user-friendly website and mobile application. Access to Insight is strictly controlled and only adults with parental responsibility and students will be allowed access to this data.
Insight usernames and passwords will be issued to those parent and guardians with whom the child is resident and are registered as the priority one parent or guardian on our system. Where parents do not live together, each parent will receive a separate username and password as long as they are both registered as having parental responsibility on our systems. Usernames and passwords will be sent via email in the first instance, if no email address is recorded your username and password will be sent to you via text or letter. Please ensure that the school is kept up-to-date of any changes to your contact details. If there is a non-resident parent who is not on our records who you believe would like to have access to Insight, please contact us. The Insight Acceptable Use Policy document can be found in the download section below, by using Insight you are agreeing to the terms and conditions detailed in the policy.
The Insight Acceptable Use Policy document and Parent and Carer User Guide is available below.
If you do not have any access to the Internet and will be unable to use this system, please notify Miss Jo Scott, Deputy Headteacher, in writing.
Please email [email protected] if you experience difficulties logging in to Insight or any other aspect of the site.
