Uniform

We expect all of our students to come to school every day in correct uniform and to bring the correct equipment.  All students should be ready to learn on a daily basis.

Hoodies are not permitted in school.

Boys

  • Black trousers
  • White shirt tucked in
  • School tie done up so the badge is showing
  • School jumper (if worn)
  • Black blazer with school badge (to be worn at all times)
  • Entirely black shoes

Girls

  • Black trousers (not jeans or leggings) or skirt (not inappropriately short)
  • School blouse (no t-shirts to be showing underneath)
  • School jumper (if worn)
  • Black blazer with school badge (to be worn at all times)
  • Entirely black shoes

Other uniform and equipment

PE, Dance and Drama

Kit is needed for every practical lesson.

Spare kit is provided for students who forget on the odd occasion.

All pupils must have football, or rugby boots for games that are played on the school field, this is for the health and safety of each pupil.  Pupils who do not bring in the correct footwear will be given boots to wear and normal sanctions will apply.  If you have any concerns regarding this please contact Mr Bright at the school.

Food

The necessary ingredients must be brought to every practical lesson.

Day to day equipment

Students are expected to have the correct stationery with them for every lesson.  Some stationery is available to buy from Student Support and the Pastoral Base.

Shoes

School shoes must be black and leather or leather look.  Boots are not permitted neither are heeled shoes.

Hair, makeup & jewellery

No unnatural hair colours or lines / shapes shaved into the head

No ‘skin head’ type cuts

No jewellery other than small stud earrings, a watch and a small cross or other religious symbol

Coats should not be worn in classrooms

Discreet makeup may be worn.  Unacceptable makeup will have to be removed.  False nails and brightly coloured nail varnish are not permitted.

Mobile phones and electronic equipment

None of the above is permitted inside the school building or in lessons.  Such items will be confiscated if misused.  Mobile phones and electronic equipment are the student’s own responsibility.

Energy drinks

No cans of high energy drinks, such as Red Bull or Relentless should be brought to school

Aerosols

Please do not bring these into school.  They can seriously harm some students who have asthma or breathing difficulties.

Behaviour for Learning card

Every student will be issued a card at the beginning of every new term.  Staff may sign this card if students behave in an inappropriate manner.  This may include not wearing the correct uniform.

Those with clean cards at the end of the term will be entered into a prize draw.
