Samantha and Ellens NHS Fundraiser

Monday 27th April 2020

Our year 8 students, Samantha and Ellen, have set up an NHS fundraiser and will be donating 100% of the money to Darent Valley Hospital. They are hoping to raise £1500!

We will be donating 100% of the donations to Darent Valley Hospital as it is a local hospital to both of us. We also have relatives who work there, so it holds a special place in our hearts and we would like to help in any way we can. We are going to give the money to the hospital to help with the wellbeing and mental health of the nurses and doctors, especially the ones in the ITU. We have chosen to give them the money to use for this reason because it can be quite distressing to be dealing with some the the Covid-19 patients as they are seeing them in such a bad state. This bad picture and memory will never disappear but there are things that can be done to help them. We have seen on the hospitals Instagram page that they are looking to set up a well being area for the nurses and doctors where they can relax and we think the money should go towards items to go in there.

We will also be doing fun daily challenges that are being suggested by our followers, (which people can join in with) on our social media page specifically made for this fundraising event to help raise more money and reach more people.

Monday- Live Q&A
Tuesday- Live workout
Wednesday- Sponsored bake- give the creations to our key workers in our family’s to take to work.
Thursday- Live sign language challenge/class

We have chosen to use Go Fund Me as a reliable source to collect the donations. This is the link to our fundraiser: Click here
