Enrolment Process and Dates
Current Saint George’s Students
For the first time in three years, we are pleased to say we will be holding and in person results day. Year 11 students can collect their GCSE results from the sixth form study centre on Thursday 25th August between 9am – 10.30am.
Current students who wish to join our sixth form will also be able to enrol with a member of the sixth form team and take up a confirmed place during results day. We urge all students wishing to join our sixth form to take up the opportunity before we open our sixth form to students from other schools. We have seen an extremely large number of applications, so do expect some courses to become full.
Please note, to join our sixth form, students must complete the in-person enrolment process for a place to be confirmed. A conditional offer does not guarantee a place in the sixth form, if enrolment has not taken place. If a student is unable to attend the sixth form enrolment in person, please contact Miss Pye (pyem@sgsce.co.uk) by Tuesday 23rd August at the latest, so that we can have a plan in place for enrolment.
External students joining from another school
Our enrolment process for external students will take place in person on Thursday 25th August between 12.30pm – 2.30pm for any student who have made an application to our sixth form. This includes students with conditional offers or waiting list offers. Please arrive at the school via Meadow Road, where you will be directed to the sixth form study centre. You will need a copy of your results, photo id and proof of address to enrol.
There will be an additional enrolment session on Friday 26th August between 9.30 – 11am where any student who wishes to join our sixth form can attend, regardless of whether they made an application or not. Again, students will need to bring copy of your results, photo id and proof of address to enrol.
All students must have met our entry requirement to secure a place in our sixth form. Entry requirement criteria can be found here, or in the downloads section below. Students also will have to select three subjects from our option blocks (one per block), these can be found here, or in the downloads section below.
First Day Instructions
Our first day of sixth form for Year 12 will be Thursday 1st September 2022.
Only Year 12 (and Year 7) students will be in this day and when you arrive you will be directed to the sixth form centre. Students should arrive from 8.30am ready for a welcome assembly at 8.40am.
During the day we will experience a teambuilding session with an external company. Students need to pay £8 to reception by cash or card prior to the 1st September or they can bring an envelope with the cash in clearly marked with their name. Students are expected to attend in business dress, in line with our dress code, but can bring a pair or trainers in to wear during the teambuilding session.
