Post 18 Plans
During a student’s time at Saint George’s Sixth Form, they will have a comprehensive careers programme that allows them to explore & make applications to secure a successful post-18 destination. We encourage our students to make applications to both universities via UCAS and for higher or degree-level apprenticeships. Support is provided for students to make both types of applications.
We arrange for students at our Sixth Form to attend the annual University/Apprenticeship Search Exhibition. The purpose of the event is to help students discover which university or apprenticeship might be right for them. Students also have sessions delivered by universities and careers advisors on apprenticeships to help them make their decisions.
Students are expected to complete either an in-person or virtual work experience placement during Year 12. and they are encouraged to use this as a chance to explore their possible future careers. Work experience is for all Year 12 students and takes place
