A Day of Reflection, Celebration, and Football

On Friday, 9th May 2025, the Saint George’s community came together to celebrate a significant milestone for our Year 13 students - the end of their school journey and the beginning of a new chapter as they prepare for their final exams. The day began with a reflective and moving church service, providing a moment of calm and gratitude for the journey so far. Staff, students, and families gathered to mark the occasion, giving thanks for the experiences, friendships, and personal growth that have shaped these past years.

Following the service, the mood turned celebratory with our very own Oscars-style awards ceremony. With laughter and cheers, we honoured the unique personalities and contributions of each student, from academic excellence to unforgettable moments of humour and kindness. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as students opened heartfelt letters from home, reminding them of the love and support cheering them on as they move into this next phase.

The day closed with the much-anticipated annual Year 13 vs Teachers football match. It was a spirited and closely fought game, ending with a 5-4 win to the teachers - a result the staff are still proudly talking about!

We couldn’t be prouder of our Year 13 students. Congratulations on all you have achieved so far. You have left your mark on Saint George’s, and we look forward to seeing all the wonderful things you’ll go on to accomplish.

Good luck in your upcoming exams - your future is bright, and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
