Appeals

If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2024, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Wednesday, 16 April 2025).

You need to submit your appeal before Tuesday, 20 May 2025, for it to be considered by Thursday, 22 May 2025. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible, in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible, in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

If you would like to lodge an appeal for a child starting Reception or for more information on the appeals process, please visit KCC – Appeal a School Offer.

In-year Admissions

If you are considering transferring your child to our school, please get in touch with Primary Admissions for information on availability and waiting lists using the contact details below.

To apply for a place outside the September Admissions process, you must complete an In-year Application Form and a Supplementary Information Form. Both forms are available to download below and will need to be completed and returned directly to the Primary Phase office.

Please note: If your child is offered a place at Saint George’s, you must provide your child’s birth certificate and proof of address (two for you and one for your child).

In-year Admissions Documentation

In-year Appeals

If you have not been offered a place following an in-year application, the law entitles you to appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the school and the Local Authority. In accordance with the 2022 School Admission Appeals Code, the admission authority and appeal panels have elected for all admissions appeals to be held online.

If you wish to appeal, please use the links below to complete your appeal online:

Please do NOT use ANY other appeal form or send your form to your local authority. It is highly recommended that you download the explanatory booklet about appeals, which you should read before you complete the appeal form. If your appeal is for years Reception, year 1 or year 2, you should read the Key Stage 1 appeals section on page 18.

You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form, and you MUST state the grounds of your appeal at the time you lodge it. Your appeal form will not be accepted unless you provide the grounds for your appeal. You may appeal to more than one school.

Please note that the online form will ask you to download two utility bills dated the last THREE months.  If you cannot access a scanner, please take two photographs using a mobile phone and upload the photographic files.

If you wish to contact the clerk – email:  clerk@educationappeals.com

All-in-year appeals will be heard within 20 school days of lodging the appeal form.
