Reflecting on the 2025 Trust Athletics Championship

On Tuesday 15 July 2025, a team of Saint George’s students proudly represented the school at this year’s Trust Athletics Championship, the largest one yet, with 12 schools taking part. Held in a brilliant spirit of friendly competition, the event was packed with energy, determination, and impressive sporting talent across both track and field.
Students competed in a wide range of events including sprints, relays, long-distance runs, javelin, shot put, and long jump. This year also saw the exciting debut of Tug of War, which brought plenty of teamwork and enthusiasm from every school involved.
It was a fantastic day for all participants, and we’re incredibly proud of the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship shown by our Saint George’s athletes throughout the event.
Event Highlights
Athletics Championship Results:
-
Joint 1st Place: Cliffe Woods & Stone St. Mary’s – 26 points

Several Trust records were broken during the competition, making this one of the most memorable finals yet. The event also marked the end of the 2024–25 Trust Sports Season, with Cliffe Woods crowned the overall champion with 71 points.
While Saint George’s didn’t place in the top three this year, our students showed great resilience, team spirit, and determination, values that lie at the heart of everything we do.
Congratulations to all the schools who took part, and thank you to the staff and organisers who made the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to coming back stronger in the 2025–26 season!
